Kate Baker Australian

A current PhD candidate at the Australian National University School of Art & Design, Baker’s works have been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at the Palm Springs Art Museum (California), the New Mexico Museum of Art (Santa Fe), The Corning Museum of Glass (New York), The Toyama Museum of Glass (Japan), The Alexander Tutsek Foundation (Munich, Germany), and the Glass Biennale (Venice, Italy).

Both a finalist and a winner of national and international art prizes, scholarships and grants, her artworks are featured in collections globally.

“Baker’s work gives us a very sophisticated resolution of a glass medium that feels entirely contemporary and rooted in the moment of now. It is the fusion of both traditional practice and pushing the glass medium to blur the boundaries beyond a painting, beyond a photograph and beyond glass”

- Nick Mitzevich, Director of the National Gallery of Australia (NGA)
